Documentation of the cracks found when grinding the rough form
The purpose of this page is to solicit input from the carving community.
The cracks look the worst when exposed during roughing at 60 grit. I was using both a Graff Diamond 1" steel bit with electroplated diamonds and 1/2" 3M Flex diamond bands which seem to have dots of electroplated diamonds. Some areas, where the cracks are less evident, were sanded with a Diamond Pacific Nova Resin-Bond Diamond Sanding Wheel.
