Cape Chignecto

Lisa, Enid, and I vacationed in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick from 2005-08-03 to 2005-08-18. We visited with my sister Nancy and her family and with Lisa's and Enid's brother Peter and his family.

For the first part, we stayed mostly at Indian Point where we celebrated Nancy's 60th birthday, ate, kayaked, wind surfed, fished, snorkelled, ate mussels, snoozed, read books, wandered the woods, ate, made day trips to visit Peggy's Cove, hike in Keji adjunct, visit Pearl Island where Atlantic puffins nest (a first for me!!!), watched the shrew that lives in the back deck at Indian Point, and, oh, ate some more.

For the second part, we met with Peter, Edna, and Edana. Peter joined us on the Cape Chignecto trail hike. It was an incredible experience.

There are two sets of pictures from the hike: mine, and Nancy and Avery's. We both agreed that the above image was one to capture. I haven't captioned or sorted Nancy and Avery's photographs. I thought it better to get them up than sit on them another week or two or three ...

For the third part, we visited with Peter, Edna, and Edana in Sackville. In Sackville, we were met by a lovely dinner of skewered shrimps and desserts that Lisa can eat! After camping for a few nights, fresh veggies and shrimps were especially appreciated. The eating theme continued with stops at restaurants, bakeries, lobster shops, ... Edna knows the best ones.

Also, we visited the Cape Jourimain Nature Centre, Bouctouche sand dunes, sandpiper resting beaches, Cape Enrage, Fundy National Park, and many small towns where Edna seemed to know all the interesting shops and restaurants (again).
