Kayaking near the Cliffs Here are a few pictures from our visit to Janet and Bill's Mountain Basin retreat. We hiked, paddled, played squash, flew tiny helicopters (squash court is a great place for that), talked, ate, watched otters, and relaxed in hinterland bliss. We paddled up the Seguin River to the rapids. I was in their new Dagger kayak. Starting to paddle up the rapids reminded me of how much fun it is paddling rapids. Probably, fortunately, I had my camera in the kayak and didn't have a spray deck so I didn't get too adventuresome. We have to go back with a spray deck and helmet and give the rapids a whirl. We also visited Toronto and Janet and Bill's home there too. For some reason, there are no pictures from that part of our trip. Unfortunately, while I was using their computer, I noticed a Diablo II game. I had to try - Ted and I used to play Diablo I many years ago. Then I got hung up on the Mac interface so had to get help from Gavin. That resulted in a whirlwind tour of his Diablo characters on Battle.net and some of the different aspects of the game. When I got home, I succumbed and bought my own copy, much to the detriment of sleep and other activities, such as getting pictures up on the web. © 2010. All images are copyrighted by Alan Covington.
