The first day we paddled from the town of Milk River to Coffin Bridge.
If you paddle the Milk River, buy the Alberta
Recreation Canoe Association map. They are available at most paddling and outdoor
recreational stores. ARCA's website lists
where one can buy them.

The Coffin Bridge campsite was donated by the landowner, who
lives a few 100m away. He and his wife stopped by for a
chat. He has been hit by the BSE scare. In the morning, he
stopped by again and suggested that we fill our water
container from his tap. He drove Peter back with a full
container and another short chat. He moved to Canada from
Switzerland in the 1950s and purchased this out-of-the-way
piece of land (>2000 acres) in 1968. Being ranching cattle
ever since.
