Lake O'Hara from All Souls Prospect You will note a certain haze in many of these pictures. This is due to the wood smoke in the air from the many forest fires that were burning in British Columbia while we were at Lake O'Hara. We hiked to Lake MacArthur on our first day as a warm-up. The crazy ladies I was with went swimming in Lake MacArthur despite the small chunks of ice floating in the water! I cooled my feet very briefly in the water. With that sort of a start, as you can guess, most of the lakes we passed, except Mary Lake, had at least one person from our group swimming in it. I must admit that I didn't succeed in getting into any lake. They were all too cold for me. The pictures for our hikes are accessible from the left-hand menu. © 2010.
