We get both red-shafted and yellow-shafted races in Calgary. They interbreed to produce
individuals with some characteristics of each. I've seen one with red-shafts and black moustachial
stripes.
This was taken through our not-too-clean kitchen window, at a slow shutter speed (1/13), and
hand held/braced. The image stabilization (IS) lens works!! Normally, I would use a shutter
speed of 1/125 for hand holding this shot. That is about 3 f-stops faster than the actual shutter
speed. The advertising for IS lens says that one gets 2 to 3 f-stops.
