My Hiking Companions Another lovely hiking holiday with Maria and Heather (for one day). This time we had lovely weather. It was hot enough that we "swam" (Maria and Lisa and Heather swam. I got in and got out in about 20 seconds.) in every lake we came to. We made a prerequiste that every hike have a lake. I was concerned about Helen Lake. Last time Lisa and I were there, the lake was low with a broad shore of mud and rocks. This time it was full and swimmable. We were not the only ones swimming. © 2009.
