| There were lots of people at the party, many of whom I didn't know or only knew of, but hadn't met. I managed to put a few names to faces and to learn a few new names. We had a picture show from AE's past. Rick and Peter played MC as AE, Peggy, and Nonnie told us about the pictures. Rick and Ben digitized the pictures and brought a projector. Lisa brought her laptop. I cobbled together some stuff to show the pictures. It was fun seeing old Edmonton and young AE, Nonnie, Peggy, and their siblings, parents, and friends. Now, I have to find them and put a link to them from here. There was cake. Its arrival spurred me to get my camera out. Once the cake was cut and was being distributed, it was time to visit again. Dinner had slowed us down so we weren't as frantic to get up and visit, but visited sitting down. Finally dinner had settled enough and the cake was mostly gone, so people got up again. More visiting and bits of mellowing out. Some people didn't mind their pictures being taken and others were less willing. Then there were those who found the last few desserts and weren't about to share. Letters and telegrams from people who could not attend were read. The ones from the politicians and heads of state were set up on a table. The table also had a book for attendees to write in a comment or two and sign. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
