This plant had suffered behind a mugo pine for several years. Putting in our sewer removed
the mugo pine and this clematis has started to grow. It blooms continuously from mid-summer to
frost.
The green veins and yellow leaf is called chlorosis. It is caused by a lack of iron, which, in
our case, is caused by alkaline soil, which binds iron in an unusable form. It is a common problem
in Calgary.
